Tip #1: While installing AutoCAD, you will be asked to migrate custom settings. We recommend not doing this.

Tip 2: We recommend that you download the complete (offline) installer for AutoCAD Architecture.

Start the installation of AutoCAD Architecture 202x according to the AutoDESK instructions. Open AutoCAD Architecture and issue the [legacycodesearch] command and close AutoCAD.

Depending on which version of AutoCAD Architecture you have installed, download TEKWOODS.3D BIM 202x and the installation manual from the website. Follow the manual for a correct installation.

During the year, we perform software updates on a regular basis. Small improvements or bug fixes. We offer these updates automatically, you have the choice to install them or not.

Want to install an update manually? You do this as follows:

• Search via Windows for TEKWOODS.3D BIM updater
• run the application and it will search for and install available updates.

In order to use TEKWOODS.3D BIM you need a so-called license key. When (re)starting TEKWOODS.3D BIM, the system will ask you to activate the license key. After activation you can start.

Sometimes the Tekwoods tabs may not be loaded by AutoCAD. You can solve this easily. Issue the MENULOAD command, unload the two Tekwoods tabs and then restart the program.

Would you like to transfer your license to another/ new PC? The SHOW_LIC_INFO command takes you to an information screen where you can deactivate the license. Then you can reuse the license key.

In AutoCAD, go to [Options] [Files] [Trusted locations] and add the following two locations:

• C:CIM 2024…. (with 3 dots)
  
• C:CIM 2024. (with 2 dots)

To work with TEKWOODS.3D BIM you need a PC on which AutoCAD Architecture is installed. If you have AutoCAD and a valid license then you can install TEKWOODS.3D BIM.

If you like to use the default TEKWOODS template provided, we explain below how to select it as default.

• go to the main menu (top left)
• go to options (at the bottom of the menu)
  go to Template settings
• go to Drawing template file location
• click on Browse
• select C:3D BIM 202xWrktmplt
• click on Apply
• restart TEKWOODS3d.BIM

From the work preparation (iBOM) you can generate a db.TWSBDB file. You can then convert this file via our portal or by means of the (optional) NC.DATA module to a suitable saw file for the sawing machine.

Tekwoods.3D BIM can be installed on your existing PC/laptop, provided it meets latest AutoCAD Architecture system requirements recommended by AutoDESK.

The IFC export function makes it possible to generate IFC files. Of the entire project or separately per element. The latter possibility gives production staff the chance, through an IFC viewer, to have only that element in view that is currently being worked on.

The function TWS3D:ON_OF_PICKSTYLE allows you to switch between selecting one object by itself or a group of objects together.

More explanation:

This function allows you to turn the PICKSTYLE ON or OFF.

If the choice is ON: the whole group is selected the moment you select one object from the group.

If the choice is OFF: only the chosen object is selected.

TEKWOODS.3D BIM is a special toolset developed by Tekwoods Software bv for HSB draftsmen working with AutoCAD (Architecture). With TEKWOODS.3D BIM you draw wall and roof elements. TEKWOODS.3D BIM is the toolset for working out prefab HSB (timber frame construction) projects.

The delivery of TEKWOODS.3D BIM means an application running on the basis of AutoCAD Architecture, which is specifically intended to support the work preparation wood frame construction. The application includes drawing routines that allow the user to extract his work preparation (order lists, assembly lists and cutting lists) from the drawings.

Furthermore, tools are provided to ensure optimal flexibility of the program. No hardware and no AutoCAD Architecture is supplied by us. In case of technical failures, we will do everything possible to solve this for you as soon as possible.

By updates we mean functional improvements and/or functional modifications to the program. Users who have a valid license can take advantage of this offer.
